So, I've been a fan since they played a show I won tickets to. I came home and signed up to BrokenH here.

I have seen them 4 times, 3 countries, met them twice, and have 4 autographed albums. T-Shirts, posters, I've heard pretty much everything they've done...

I really like them.

I like The Paramour Sessions, and barring a few songs here and there, I like everything else way back until Potatoes For Christmas.

BUT-

Metamorphosis is shit. I gave the album a listen and the only songs I liked were "Hollywood Whore" and "I Almost Told You That I Loved You" (go figure, it went on to become a single).

I also just saw them play a 40 minute set at Sonisphere in the UK yesterday... And... Well...

Getting Away With Murder
...To Be Loved
Lifeline
Forever
Scars
Kick in the Teeth
Hollywood Whore
I Almost Told You That I Loved You
Between Angels and Insects
Last Resort

It may be slightly out of order... But with such a back catalogue of good music, what's with all the dribble?

Fucking eh, like a total abandonment of all their harder stuff. Lifeline, Forever, Scars... Argh. I fucking can't stand those songs any more... Not that Lifeline or Forever were ever that great.

If this is the way it's going to be, what the fuck is the point of seeing them? I'll just listen to their albums and hear decent music.

I never thought I would do a rant.

Festivals are never the best setlists. If you go to a headline show then you're likely to get BH, SLMN, Blood Brothers, BWNDWE, Dead Cell, Into The Light and even more recently Blood.

They did not play Dead Cell at Sonisphere? Madness. That usually always makes the cut.

Festivals are a bad place to see bands you're really passionate about because of the time limit imposed on everyone. It's mainly a place for the bands to get exposure and win new fans, rather than please their diehards, so they've got to go with basically a sampler type setlist. Same when they open for other acts.

I figured it was likely the whole festival thing, but it still stings a little.

As far as I know though, this was their only UK date.

How lame.

But then Rammstein made up for it.

They've been playing it again recently. You wont get them all, course not, but it's a song that comes back in to the setlist. They played it in Poland the other day actually.

I had no idea Roach were playing there. Fuck first I miss Gary Numan there and now Roach?

...But oh yeah, terrible set list. Rar, set them on fire and stuff.

I saw them at Sonisphere; I knew not to expect much as I hate seeing bands I love at festivals unless they're top of the bill. I was very impressed with the way they played, however I must admit I was not that happy the set list - but what do you expect from a 45 min festival slot? A few friends who saw them at Download a few years back commented they were far better at Sonisphere and really enjoyed the energy of the show. I guess that's all I care about when seeing them live. Coby looked like he was loving it!

New Found Glory is apparently keeping a suggestion box at merch where fans can submit song requests. Then the band picks one and plays it during the show. I like that idea.
