After listening, I don't believe this album is all that great. Musically, yeah, it's a step in the right direction. Man, there's so many...EH songs on here. Didn't have this issue on The Connection.
You guys are saying Devil is their best song? Really? I thought it was kind of flat. Gravity was the only real stand out to me. Every other song...Was just filler to me besides Just as Broken as Me and F.E.A.R.
Kind of disappointed, actually.
Because the cd isn't too long its easy to breeze through it. However, I feel given time you get a greater appreciation for how each track stands out. Quite simply I love it, sounds AMAZING in the car not uncommon to get glances stopped at red lights.
The only 2 quick things I didn't like was the pairing of "Love Me Till It Hurts" and "NHTSG" I understand why they did it, but I feel having them together takes away from 2 fantastic songs.
The end has bothered me also, CD starts off fast, kills in the middle, then the end is kinda thrown together. Devils might have been the better choice to close out the cd, but I understand the band likes to end on high/positive note and Warriors checks both boxes. The bonus songs definitely give the album a better ending, but only hardcore PRoach fans anticipate the bonus songs and are mainly missed by the mainstream contingent. Warriors might have been a better bonus song as it's a Prodigy homage, but because it features a special guest bringing in fans of a different genre you can't do that.
I would probably have moved "Love Me Till It Hurts" after "Gravity" kept the rest the same and used "Hope for the Hopeless" as the closer, leaving "Fear Hate Love" as a sole bonus.
1. "Face Everything and Rise"
3. "Broken as Me"
4. "Falling Apart"
5. "Never Have to Say Goodbye"
6. "Gravity" (featuring Maria Brink of In This Moment)
7. "Love Me Till It Hurts"
8. "War Over Me"
10. "Warriors" (featuring Royce da 5'9")
11. "Hope for the Hopeless"
You take the tracks to 11(Spinal Tap), don't piss off Eminem, and have "Gravity" smack dab in the middle.
